The Galuwa Scholarship Program had its inaugural Careers Aspiration Day on 10 August at the Wollotuka Institute, University of Newcastle.
It was a great day where Galuwa students were able to experience what university life would be like. Students were amazed at the size of the library and that you could eat and talk in most areas and that the library had over 1.3 million books and journals for students to use.
Galuwa students also visited the Faculty of Health and Medicine where they spent time in the pharmacy making cream.
Galuwa students also went to the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment where they programmed a robot to DAB. It was a relatively easy thing to do, but there sure was difficulty involved. Rotating the motor engine joints to a right-angle and getting the robot to balance were quite challenging.
